Why I'm a Democrat.

.
Anyone who is friends with me on Facebook knows, during election year, I eat, breathe, and sleep politics. I'm as far left wing as you can get. I know some of my Democrat friends are fiscal conservatives, social liberals and vice versa, I'm a solid liberal.

The two greatest presidents of my lifetime.

The reasons why I'm a Democrat are simple:
*I'm not rich. My husband works very hard and I feel like we should not have to pull the weight of the seven figure CEO's while the government gives him a tax break so he can outsource jobs to China to save even more money and therefore can buy his 4th Summer home in the Carribean. How about we give those tax breaks to working class families who are struggling and can't afford for their child to take gymnastic lessons?

*I'm a woman. I don't feel like this warrants an explanation but the Republicans war on woman has gotten OUT OF HAND. Abortion is not for me, but I've also never been raped. With these new laws that they're proposing rape victims would be further victimized, insulted, and violated. And as for birth control, how can the same party that is so against abortion try to stop birth control as well as sex education. Ridiculous!

*Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transexual rights. Why is this still an issue?  I posted this to Facebook a couple days ago and I think it explains it better than I ever could.

*Education. This is America, "land of opportunity," but honestly that opportunity is pretty limited without higher education. Democrats want to make college a possibility for everyone regardless of their parent's economic state. Why should a child suffer and not be able to be better than what his parents were because they couldn't afford to send him to college? Isn't that where the future of this country comes into play? Without this aid for middle class families, there will be no middle class. The middle class will become the poverty class and the rich will get richer.

*Universal Healthcare. Again a picture says it better than I ever could.

I think I get so annoyed when nice southern working class families are Republicans because it just screams bigotry. If a party is devoted to over taxing your economic class, cutting your pay, taking money out of your pockets, and padding the pockets of the wealthiest 1% of this country WHY would you vote for them? The only logical reason I can see is that God forbid gays, lesbians, women, poor people, and black people have the same rights as the rich white men.

And because we all know I like pictures... Just a few more to drive the point home. :)

One of my favorites!!

And to sum it all up:

    1. Thank you so much. We are definitely out numbered by the Republicans down here. My husband is actually a Republican so we debate this quite often. :)
