Summer Dessert Recipe

I LOVE this recipe for a Summer dessert. Warning, the final result is UGLY! I've made it before and it turned out beautiful I don't know what was up with my fruit cuttin' skills today but it was off. Oh well it's always delicious!!

Ingredients:

2 pie crusts

2 boxes of cheesecake jello

Skim milk (for jello)

Frozen mixed berries

Can of pineapple tidbits

Light Whipped Cream

Bananas

Kiwi

*Poke holes in your pie crust and bake according to package directions. I did mine for about 12 minutes in a 375* oven. While those are baking get to work on your filling and toppings.

Forget hand mixing pudding, that's what this baby is for! 2 boxes of cheesecake pudding, 3.5 cups of skim milk and the whipping blade til the pudding is thickened and all the lumps are gone.

I always run hot water over my frozen fruit to thaw it and strain it along with the pineapples in a colander.

When you slice bananas they tend to brown (even over the course of a few hours) so I squeeze a little lemon juice on them and that keeps them lookin' fresh.

Kiwi!!

After your pudding is done in the magic bullet mix about a quarter of a tub of light whipped cream in the pudding.

By now your pie shells should be done.

Pour in the filling, cover with banans, top with the berry/pineapple mix, and a light layer of whipped cream.

And finish it off with a ton of fresh kiwi.

We've ditched the arm floaties.. My big boy is officially swimmin' like a fish. He loves the water and is absolutely fearless. He's been a little scared to learn the past couple years but I think watchin' all his new older friends splash around while he was confined to arm floats was gettin' to be too much for him because it took me like 2 days and now he can swim end to end. I'm one pround mama!

Sunshine and Summertime

Mr Handsome Britches had his last day of school yesterday.

Here's how we plan to spend our Summer.

This is a new swimsuit I bought. I wasn't thinking when I bought it about the ridiculous tan lines I was going to get!

Today we hung out by the pool, then got dressed to go out and get dinner.. (Hubby is in Atlanta),

This is how my hair will look all Summer, UP! 

We had some AMAZING Mexican food at Laredo. We didn't know it but kids eat free on Wednesday!

Then we did a little shopping at Walgreens, and I got some knock off Happy. I LOVE Happy and have been wearing it since high school at least, but I don't like to wear it on a daily basis bc it's a little strong.. This is a much fainter version but it's still very citrus-y and smells amazing.. It was like 7 bucks I think.. Great deal and I love it.

I came home and worked on Kaylee a Summer hairbow.. Y'all don't forget about the boutique items. :)

Now  Kaylee and I are doing mani/pedis and watching movies..

We've had a great but full day to start our Summer vacation. We're so excited to have our big boy home every day and for all the fun times this Summer!

A date, pickles, and "frands"

I didn't get a chance to blog last night because I actually got to dress up, curl my hair, and put makeup on to spend some time with my handsome fella. :)

I swear I feel like I'm going to need braces again because it appears my overbite is reappearing.. 

While we waited on Daddy to get off work we had a mini photo shoot. 

Not a chance of getting a serious picture with these two. I love it though, definitely indicative of their personalities.

After we got them from the baby sitter we had a fun family night. We cooked some burgers on my new indoor grill. Seriously y'all this was the best $30 we've ever spent this thing works like a dream! I've used it for steaks and burgers tomorrow I'm tryin' out some chicken on it.

I put these new pickles I found at Walmart on the burgers and they were so good. James loved them but I doubt I'll share any more with him. I pretty much go through a jar of pickles in a day anyway and these might be the best I've ever had.

Local ladies get to the Opelika Walmart and get y'all a container of them.

We did a little swimmin' this afternoon too and when we got there we were thrilled to see this:

An empty pool. It's so nice having a gated community pool and it's even nicer that it's almost always pretty empty.. There has been one somewhat busy Saturday so far and there were still under 10 people out there. I love that we don't have the maintenance of a pool but we don't have to pay to swim or go far either.

Now we're gonna complete this family night with some ice cream and tv. We're  kinda late to the party but we're going back to season one and checking out In Plain Sight.

Kaylee informed me that Ethan has a bunch of "frands" and she doesn't really have any in Auburn. She did some play dates in Ft Mitchell and loved it but she hasn't made any new friends in Auburn. Does anyone know of any MOPS groups or play date groups in Auburn?

New hair, a blog, and girl time.

James was working in Prattville last night/today so after running some quick errands with this little beauty queen.

Who insisted on wearing these shoes.

So not kidding.

We came home and I got to working on my white trash roots.. Seriously my hair was a mess y'all! I've done a billion and a half shades of blonde.

See? But I think I've found my favorite.. It's so hard for me to get ashy tones to take but FINALLY I got a nice cool blonde.. No more gold tones!!

I know I need to trim my ends.. It hasn't been that long since I did it I can't believe how bad they look.

And today I gave myself bangs.

I reckon I could've put some makeup on.. Yikes!! 

Last night was the season premier of the newest Bachelorette and I LOVE Emily I'm so excited about this season!
